Gannon Stauch

Eleven year old Gannon Stauch has been missing from Colorado Springs since January 27. His stepmother told police that he went to a friend's house, but no one has seen him since. I will do a tarot reading, using a horoscope spread, to see what the cards have to say about Gannon's case.

In the first house, we get the Fool. This is the foundation of the entire situation, and we can expect to be surprised by a few things, as the search continues. The Fool is all about adventure and new things, but sometimes about foolish choices, as well. This card also describes risks, and I will come back to it concerning the types of risks later in the reading. Moving along to the second house, of material possessions and personal wealth, we have the seven of pentacles, which shows us a farmer, waiting for his crop to grow and ripen. This usually tells us about an adult who waits for a client, or an investment to come to fruition, not a child or the pursuits of a child. This is unusual, here. The third house, of communication and relatives, yields the Magician. The Magician in this context shows an adult involved who orchestrated this disappearance and whose communication, both written and spoken, along with phone data, can be helpful. This person has manipulated and deceived others before, and has gotten away with it.

The fourth house, of the home environment, shows the Hanged Man. The fourth house tells us about the home of the subject, and sometimes about the current environment. The Hanged Man speaks of suspension, so from this, we can extrapolate that someone close to Gannon has not given all the information he or she can. Also, as a physical location, shallow ponds and creeks with trees near the shorelines are indicated.

The Star, the card of inspiration and success, comes up in the fifth house of creativity and children. This could mean a number of things; it could mean that Gannon will be found by someone who "thinks outside of the box", or it could merely mean that Gannon is outside, somewhere. This idea is actually followed up by the Sun, which appears in the sixth house of inconveniences and challenges. Somehow, these elements, associated with outdoors, are key to finding Gannon. "Sun", or "Star" may also be included in the name of a road or a place.

Now, we move to a subject that is a bit sticky; the seventh house of partnerships. This house yields the Empress, which is the "mother" card, reversed. Gannon is too young for such a partner of his own, so we must assume that this is a family member or an adult female who is involved in his life in such a way that she makes a difference in the choices that he makes and in his general experience in life. As she falls reversed, I am going to assume that she does not mean him well. The eighth house card, the three of wands, also reversed, relates directly to things involving both the reversed Empress and Gannon. When the three of wands falls reversed, we can expect a certain amount of treachery and bad faith, so I hate to see it in a position that relates to products of agreements and partnerships. The ninth house, of beliefs and guidance, gives us the two of wands, reversed, telling us that impatience and obstinacy on the part of the reversed Empress  played a role, here, too.

The tenth house, of reputation and public life, gives us the Queen of Swords, reversed, telling us that narrow mindedness, malice, and, once again, deceit, is involved. This is either a female accomplice, or an accomplice after the fact. There has been a certain amount of justifying and rationalizing concerning the lies to law enforcement. We have the nine of swords, reversed, indicating loss and misery, in the eleventh house of friends, hobbies, and play. This worries me a great deal. The twelfth house, of secret enemies and endings, shows the four of cups, reversed. This shows acceptance, but acceptance of what?

Going back to the Fool, in the first house, it appears that someone promised Gannon an adventure of some sort, or promised him something in order to get him to do something he otherwise would not have done, or to go somewhere he otherwise would not have gone. The Hanged Man, the Star, and the Sun are all cards which, on mundane levels, speak to the out of doors, and that is why I think Gannon will be found outside. I do not think he ever made it to his friend's house, and while I don't see a lot of violence in this reading, the two women indicated, the Empress reversed and the Queen of Swords reversed, worry me. Hopefully, Gannon will be found safe, and all of the dire warnings in this reading will be things that have not yet come to pass.

A very sad update: Gannon was found deceased, near a bridge on the Escambia River in Florida.

Angela Marie Hammond

Angela Marie Hammond has been missing since 1991, when she was snatched by an unknown
male from a Missouri, phone booth.

The reading starts with the Tower, crossed by the seven of swords, which is read reversed. This gives us a situation unforeseen conflict aided by opportunity and an able hand. Angela did not see the attack coming, and the perpetrator had no problem grabbing her. This is founded by the ace of cups, which symbolizes romantic new beginnings, happiness, hope, and love. This somehow symbolizes the last few moments of Angela's life, before she met her attacker. Next, we have the eight of pentacles, reversed. This tells us a little about the perpetrator; he was not very good at the skills required for his employment. I am not sure how this plays into Angela's situation, but it comes up in the background.

As the best possible outcome, we have the King of Swords. This king is often law enforcement,
and the message here is that police would still like to solve Angela's missing persons case. This is
followed by the Devil, reversed. Upside right, the Devil is often a card of bondage, so when I
see it reversed here in a missing person's reading, it appears that the case will open up again and
be solved, eventually, and no longer belong exclusively to the perpetrator. Sometimes, this card
warns of indecision: hopefully no opportunity to find evidence goes without proper investigation.
There is a distinct warning about this. Another meaning for this card is sexual perversion. This is
something that will be unearthed in testimony, when this case is solved.

In the place of fears, we have the Emperor, reversed. The Emperor is the "father" card of the deck,
and when we see him reversed, he is often telling us about a male, fatherly figure who is ineffective
and indecisive. There is a man, who is significantly older than Angela, and he needs to be questioned.
This would play into the reversed Devil's indecisiveness. It appears that someone, somewhere,
connected to this case has information that he or she hopes will be considered. Next, in the place of environment, we have the ten of wands. This is a good card to see for closing a case; it means that
a problem is soon to be solved. Next, we have the Sun, in the place of hopes. This is clear;it is the
hope that Angela will be found, and that all will come to light. The last card is the Hierophant. This
card is the card of conformity and and social sanctions. It's placement here tells us that the
investigation can and will unearth the evidence: good, old fashioned police work.

To find Angela, we have a lot of fiery "south" cards. While the Devil often points us north, he is
reversed in this reading. He is also rather fiery, as is the Sun. The Sun suggests that Angela is outside,
and the ten of wands points us south. I think there may be a field that should be searched....a place
where people sometimes hunt deer. I am not sure how far away this place is from where she
disappeared, but it seems that the drive should be a few hours, but not a few days. Perhaps as
long as one day.

I really wish I had better news from the Tarot about this.

More On Aliayah Lunsford

Aliayah Lunsford disappeared five years ago, in Weston, West Virginia. I recently got a request for another reading about her whereabouts, and since she was only three years old at the time she went missing, I have included a computer generated age progression of her picture.

So where could this baby have ended up? We have the King of Wands to begin our answer, crossed by the ace of swords. As this king falls upside right, I will assume that he means Aliayah no harm, and is trying to find her. The ace of swords, when it falls in this position, tells of very strong efforts, and perhaps very strong opinions to go along with the efforts. This suggests that the strong approach may have frightened a witness who is trying not to be fearful about coming forward.

Strength, reversed, appears at the base of this matter, and I do not like to see this card reversed in a reading for any missing child. It tells a story of abuse and bullying. The cards are telling us that this is a large part of the reason for this whole situation. Following this, we have the King of Swords. He is also upside right; and court cards from the suit of swords are often law enforcement. Both kings are professional adult males involved in Aliayah's missing persons case. It is good to see that police are still interested in finding out what happened to Aliayah. Something that is very troubling is the six of swords, reversed. This does not bode well for Aliayah; it speaks of an unfavorable end to the matter, and it tells us that Aliayah has been in the same place for a very long time. Water symbolism should be noted here, only without movement; as if trapped or stuck, somehow. Back to the efforts of those involved in the search: the two of cups (also a watery card) appears as a new possibility. This is good; it augers cooperation from potential witnesses.

In the place of fears, we find the Knight of Wands, reversed. This is a young man, younger than the two kings, and as he falls reversed, his involvement in Aliayah's case is more suspect. Two things that came into her life through him are violence and family discord. Next, in the place of environment, we have the ace of cups, reversed. Once again, we have water symbolism, but this time, we see instability and an overturning of the situation. Also noted is the fact this is the second ace, or card with a value of "1". This could mean that Aliayah was never more than a mile away from her home, or it could be a hint to a possible street name or address. The combination of "one" and "water" stand out. Next, we have Death, reversed. The message on this card, when it falls reversed, is similar to the six of swords, reversed. Nothing has changed in a long time. Something that is very sad is that the reversed Death also describes the hopes of the reversed Knight of Wands. He is hoping that Aliayah is not ever found. The last card we have in this reading is the five of pentacles. This is sadness and loneliness. Sometimes, it speaks of a church, sometimes it speaks of return of the missing; but it usually speaks of sadness when it falls upside right. My sense of this is that the five of pentacles refers to time, here. Five of something.......

I wish there was an easier way to write all of this. I hope Aliayah is found soon.

More About Kara Kopetsky

There have been a couple of requests for another reading for Kara Kopetsky, who disappeared in May of 2007.  I thought about this for awhile, unsure of what I could add, and decided to ask the Tarot one more question, in an attempt to hone in on Kara's whereabouts. It does look, from previous readings, like she has been the victim of foul play. I always wish, in cases like this, that the outcome could be more positive.

We begin with the six of pentacles, reversed, crossed by the Emperor. Somehow, due diligence has not been done here, in terms of searching for her. The Emperor is either Kara's father, or a "fatherly" male, who would like to find her. The ten of pentacles is in the past; it points to a reward or bonus for finding Kara, but no one has collected. Next, and also in the past, we have the five of swords. Usually, when this card comes up in a reading, it is all about lies and revenge, and sometimes about violence. This is why I think Kara met with foul play. There was someone, a male someone, who was vindictive and felt that he had a score of some sort to settle with Kara. The lovers appear next, in the place of possibilities. This is a suggestion that partnership and communication have been lacking, but will help, if tried. Information must be shared, locations must be searched and searched again. Any locations given in tips that were not searched should be searched. The ace of cups, reversed, appears as a challenge; there is an attitude "we've searched everywhere, there's no where else to search!" Yet, obviously, that's not true, as Kara would have been found if that was the case.

The five of pentacles appears in the place of fears. Often, the on this card shows a church. There may be a church in the vicinity of Kara's location. I would expect this church to be a landmark of sorts. In the place of environment, we have the ten of cups. I really feel that this speaks to location, and this card often tells of a family home. There could even be new construction of houses in the area. The Wheel of Fortune comes up in hopes, and this is simply the hope that luck will prevail, and that Kara will be found. The reading ends with the nine of cups, which is another "house and home" card. That card also indicates that there are enough resources to find Kara; and no reason to delay. There are a lot of "cups" cards, and their element is water. Water is a key feature in this situation. Also, there is water symbolism in the Lovers, and the suggestion on that card is to search water, and places with waterways and ponds.West is the direction associated with water and cups, pointing us west in the search. Searchers should expect to cross the Kansas River, and go into Kansas.

Where Is Kathy Sue Wilcox?

Almost forty-three years ago, sixteen year old Kathy Sue Wilcox walked out of her family home in Michigan and never came back. She was billed as a "runaway" in a day and age when "runaways" were not taken too seriously, but she was never seen again. No one ever found out what happened to her.

We begin with the Page of Wands, reversed, crossed by the seven of pentacles, which is also read reversed. This is bad news, brought on by indecision and lack of progress in the investigation. An initial impression I get is that there is something that could have been discovered years ago, but wasn't, because the proper effort was not made.

Beneath this, we get the seven of swords, reversed. Sadly, it looks as if Kathy planned to leave home, for a bit. This is followed by the nine of swords, which is the expected worry and pain felt by her family. Above this, detailing the best possible outcome, we have the three of pentacles, which is the card of the tradesman. This tells me that there IS something that can be done, professionally, to locate Kathy. Unexpectedly, the six of wands follows, telling us that the case actually WILL be solved one day. The six of wands is generally good news, but it tells us to wait for "science to give us an answer". The Knight of Cups appears in the middle of the investigation.......he is upside right, so we must assume that he is kindly disposed toward Kathy. From him, we can expect well thought out ideas and propositions that will actually work. He is an adult, but not as old as most of the people who remember Kathy in Michigan. He either knows something substantial and can help the investigation, or knows how to put together clues in order to find Kathy. Next, we have the six of swords, reversed, describing the environment of the situation. This bothers me a bit, because it screams "standstill!" What is standing still? The investigation? Kathy, herself? This is really the only truly morbid detail in this reading.

Next, in the place of desires, we have the Sun. This tells us that no one who is involved, right now, in the search for Kathy and the investigation played a role in her disappearance. This is good; sometimes guilty parties pretend to search for missing people, in order to throw off police and investigators. Also, this card is telling us that somehow, pleasure in things like gardening, farming, and homesteading play a role in finding Kathy. The final card is the ten of cups, which almost never comes up to describe the lot of a missing person. This card is the definition of happiness, happy marriage, good family life, and soul completion. It is not what I expected. Perhaps Kathy is alive and well. I think it is a possibility. If she is not, she will be found, and her disappearance will be explained.

For clues to Kathy's whereabouts, both cards that usually tell us about location in a Celtic Cross reading about a missing person are "six" cards; the six of wands, and the reversed six of swords. Perhaps the message is "six through the forest, stop at the water." The two "sevens" also give us some clues. The seven of pentacles is often called the card of the farmer, because of its association with crops, trees, and waiting for fruit or crops to ripen. Perhaps there is a clue, therein. And the reversed seven of swords is simply careful planning.....Kathy had every intention of running away. Ultimately, south and west appear to be key directions.

The contact information for this case is in the poster above. Please; if anyone has personal knowledge of Kathy Sue Wilcox, call one of the numbers.

Where Is Melissa Lee Brannen?

Melissa Lee Brannen was last seen on December 3, 1989 in Lorton, Virginia, when she was five years old.  She had been at a holiday party held for residents of Woodside Apartments. A man named Caleb Hughes was found guilty of kidnapping Melissa, and while some very compelling evidence was found connecting him to her disappearance, she has never been found.

We begin with the two of cups, reversed, crossed by the Chariot, which is also read reversed here, as a foundation.  This refers to a very violent passion, followed up with nowhere to go; a description of some very decadent and forceful desires. The King of Cups is at the base; this is an adult male, who is sensitive and professional. Since he falls upside right, I will assume that he is kindly disposed toward Melissa, and is trying to find her. Next, also in the past, is the King of Pentacles, reversed. This is another adult male, and as he falls reversed, I must label him part of the problem, rather than part of the solution. When the King of Pentacles comes up reversed in a reading, it refers to man who abuses resources and other people, and abuses any authority granted him, as well. Look for this man to have had dark hair and eyes in 1989.

In the realm of possibilities, we have the eight of pentacles. Generally, this card depicts a workplace or an apprenticeship position, but this hardly seems to fit the bill as an answer to where a little girl ended up after she went missing. It leads me to ponder whether or not the workplace of the King of Pentacles was properly searched. As it is in "possibilities" rather than actualities, I would be inclined to advise searching it again. The nine of cups, reversed, comes up next. This card describes a home with a lot of resources, and; sure enough, the suspect's home did turn up a lot of clues; but as the card falls reversed, all that was found was evidence, not Melissa.

The first card on the staff is the Hierophant, reversed. The Hierophant is all about orthodoxy and order, endorsing all that is socially approved. As he falls reversed here, the suggestion is to follow a mode that is not as traditional within the usual comfort zones, but to think and look "outside" of the box. In the place of environment, we have the Sun, reversed. This gives us an outside location, possibly a garden or an embankment with a wall. This is a place that is readily visible to the four "kingdoms" of nature: mineral, vegetable, animal, and human. It was once well manicured, but has not been maintained. As we get the number XIX from the sun, nineteen miles to the north or northwest is symbolized. We deal also with the number ten in the Wheel of Fortune, which comes up next, reversed. The symbolism on this card also deals with four "corners", or realities, if you will. In this case, we have Taurus the Bull, showing us earth, Leo the Lion, representing fire, Scorpio's eagle for water, and the Aquarian angel for air. Somehow, this symbolism plays a role in the location of Melissa. Four elements; four corners. The number of the Wheel of Fortune is X, so ten is key, but here, I think it is a placeholder or a descriptive number, such as part of an address or name. The final card is the ten of pentacles, which is also reversed. This card not only speaks of monetary loss when it falls reversed, but of a loss of family honor, as well. Someone who could help with Melissa's location has kept silent for the sake of "family honor", and has kept the secret for all these years!

Because of the "earth" references, I expect that Melissa was buried, somewhere between ten and twenty miles to the north of where she was last seen. Anyone with information about this should call the Fairfax County Police in Virginia; 703-246-7800.

Brandon Victor Swanson

Brandon Victor Swanson disappeared after leaving the home of a friend in Marshall, Minnesota. His car was found near Taunton, Minnesota. After experiencing car problems, he spoke briefly with his father via cell phone, which is how his car was located, but no one can find Brandon. Someone asked me if I would do a reading for him, so I will give it my best.

This reading begins with the Knight of Cups, reversed, crossed by the two of pentacles, which is also read reversed, here. When the Knight of Cups falls reversed, there is always trickery involved, as this is usually an untrustworthy man in his early twenties. His presence is followed up by the reversed two of pentacles, which points to forced, or simulated calm. At face value, it looks as if Brandon was carjacked and told to tell his father he was okay, when he really wasn't. But let's look further.

Another court card appears to lend some background information; the King of Pentacles, reversed. This would be a man who is older than the Knight of Cups, and I would expect him to have darker hair than the Knight of Cups and a darker complexion. He falls reversed here, and since his suit is pentacles, this points to a man who misuses his assets and, possibly, gambles. So we have two unknown people who might know what happened to Brandon.

The next card is also a court card; it is the King of Cups. As this card falls upside right, meaning that he is friend, not foe; I am inclined to identify him as Brandon's father. He is the last known person to have spoken with Brandon. This is followed by the Page of Pentacles, reversed. This leads me to believe that Brandon did not simply "disappear"; there was foul play involved. This page heralds bad news, and often theft, when reversed. Temperance comes up next; reiterating the message of competing interests and bad combinations. I would also venture a guess that Brandon either saw or heard something that could have compromised one or both of the men, the knight and the king.

The first card on the staff, describing problems connected to finding Brandon, is the seven of wands. This card tells of things that are guarded; secrets, homes, property, the like. The message here is that Brandon has not been found because he is either on private property, or somewhere bordering private property. Someone has deliberately impeded the search. The next card, showing environment, is Justice. This shows us that law enforcement still has an interest in finding Brandon, and if outworn ideas are scrapped in favor of trying new, Brandon can and will be found. It is quite likely that this will involve a search warrant, however. This is followed by the six of swords, which is a card of travel. The six of swords has appeared in the place of desires, and is a wish on the part of someone involved. The nine of pentacles is the last card, and it is a card of solitary enjoyment of property. This supports what we have seen in the seven of wands, by which we were told that private property and the need for a search warrant is pertinent. It is also a suggestion to look near or in a garden or flowerbed, or a small vegetable garden, near a house.

The pentacles and cups in this reading take us north and west, as directions. Fourteen is the number of the Temperance card; that is a likely number miles that should be covered. I found myself drawn to the small sun on the Temperance card; "sun" may be an actual, physical symbol here, such as part of the name of road or a place. Perhaps the name of a town that is somehow sun-related, or the name of a business. Somehow, this symbol is meant to give us a clue.

I always wish I had better news when I do a reading like this one. I will keep hoping for the best.

Jonathan Shay Is Still Missing

Jonathan Shay, who disappeared in July of last year, still has not been found. I was asked to do an updated reading, and this time, I am going to see if I can just hone in on possible locations. It has been much too long for a thirteen year old boy to be missing. Anyone who has seen Jonathan in person, or has information about his whereabouts should contact their local police or the FBI.

Grrr....this basis of this reading is the six of wands, reversed, (enemies and bad news) crossed by the ace of pentacles, also read reversed, which is monetary corruption and ill-gotten gains. The message is already troubling, and we are only two cards into the reading. As a foundation to this situation, we find the magician, reversed. This is someone who used a skill, and quite likely Jonathan's trust, for abusive purposes. Moving along to another card describing events in the past, we have the ten of swords, which I do not like at all in this position. This is a card of endings, often sad or violent endings. But we will corroborate this with the other cards.

As a possible future event, we see the two of wands. This tells us that there are some people close to Jonathan's case who have not given up on finding him, and are still looking for him. At this point, details that would seem insignificant, along with obvious clues, are very important. The next card is the ten of wands, reversed. Here, we have not only separation and loss, but separation through duplicity; this sheds light on the reversed Magician. Somehow, the person represented by the Magician has had an opportunity to lie in person to investigators.

The first card on the staff, describing, in this case, the lies told to Jonathan, is the four of wands. He was promised a happy adventure. What actually happened is the Chariot, reversed. This is perversion, collapsed plans, and sometimes revenge. On mundane levels, this card sometimes refers to vehicles. Perhaps a Mercury Cougar.........as it has fallen reversed, I would expect the car to have mechanical problems or to have sat, stationary, for a while. Temperance reversed is the next card. This tells of unfortunate mixes, such as bad friendships or the mixture of bad business associates and friends. Perhaps it is merely a friendship that involved individuals who are not compatible, but this aspect has somehow played a role. The nine of swords is the last card. This is not only a card of worry, but when it falls reversed, it tells of imprisonment of some kind or other. I think it is possible that the whoever was involved in Jonathan's disappearance is already in legal trouble.

Honing in on location: the abundant presence of swords in this reading points us first to the east, then we are also pointed south by wands. I keep coming back to the Chariot....not only in its more spiritual meaning, but its literal and mundane meaning. Finding a vehicle that was connected to this incident will yield some evidence, and it is a vehicle that is not terribly reliable and has probably sat, neglected, for a time. Perhaps the owner isn't even in a position to retrieve it. But it must be located. All the speculation in the world will not take the place of solid evidence.

I always hope I am wrong when an interpretation such as this is apparent. I will keep hoping and praying that I am this, time, too. In the meantime, I hope Jonathan is found; no child should be missing this long.

Jonathan Shay

Jonathan Shay disappeared in July of this year from his Missouri home, along with his cousin. His cousin was found a day later, but not Jonathan. So what happened to him and where is he? I will put the question to the cards.

We start with Temperance crossed by the Moon. Temperance is a successful combination or a well planned event, and the Moon, which is read upside right, can either mean psychic awareness, deception, or secret foes. The latter seems to fit the best, here. This basis lends itself to a scenario in which the boys may have been stalked, and the perpetrator knew when to find them unsupervised, and did so. The Moon points to an agenda of some sort, hinting that Jonathan was the victim.

This is preceded by Strength, reversed, which tells a clear tale of abuse; when this card falls reversed, it often indicates abuses of power or authority, and preying on weaker individuals. Next, we have the card of secrets, the High Priestess. Since she is upside right, I will assume that she represents an aspect of this situation that is in Jonathan's favor, somehow. We are still dealing with hidden influences. This is crowned by the World, which speaks of completion of some kind, but as this is in the realm of possibility, not past or present, we shall return to it later.

The card that follows, and shows some tension in Jonathan's situation, is the three of swords, reversed. This card often comes up to describe infighting between family members, custody battles, and ugly political/personal strife within peer groups. In reversal, which is how we find the card, it warns that the subject of the reading has compromised another in some way, and there either is, or has been, a confrontation. This makes me wonder of Jonathan witnessed a crime, or saw and heard something that could have created problems for someone in his environment, had the information become known.

The first card on the staff is the Magician. Here, the Magician is someone who knows his job, and he is in the place of fears. The message is clear: someone connected to Jonathan's disappearance is worried about the presence of an expert who can do his job and find Jonathan. In the place of general environment, we find the four of pentacles, reversed. This is wasted resources and delay. Somehow, it seems almost deliberate. In the place of hopes, we find the Hermit, reversed, which gives us the message that someone has deliberately stalled the investigation by sending searchers in the wrong direction. And finally, the reading ends with the Tower. Jonathan will be found, and someone will be held accountable. Sadly, the Tower does not predict a very happy ending, either for Jonathan or the perpetrator. This is what I read as a very strong possibility that Jonathan has met with foul play---the accountability described by the Tower. I always hope I am wrong about that type of assessment, however. Possible locations appear, via the Moon and the High Priestess, to be places where there is water; enough water to hide evidence. The World suggests that he will be found, possibly outside. Because of its position, we are being warned that the resolution of this case will not be handed to searchers and investigators; it will only come after efforts. The other clue about whereabouts has to do with the situation of a person: the four of pentacles reversed tells us that someone connected to this case has recently suffered a setback or a material loss. This is someone who should be interviewed.

How Can Sierra Lamar Finally Be Located?

Sierra Lamar, who disappeared in March of 2012, has still not been found. I have done a couple of readings for her,  most recently, this one, dealing with Antolin Garcia, the suspect in her case. I recently got a question about possibly drawing a map, but I do not know the area where she was last seen, and I am a bit hesitant to try. Unfamiliarity with such subject matter is a serious limitation for such an endeavor. After pondering what I might be able to do, I decided to try a horoscope spread for Sierra. Sometimes astrological references are better for the determination of location than other types of divination. So my attempt follows.

In the first house, the house of ego, personality, and physical appearance, we get the King of Swords. Obviously, this is not Sierra, but as he falls upright, and as court cards in the suit of swords are often law enforcement, I think it is safe to assume that this man is either an officer or a prosecutor investigating the case. The second house, the house of money and possessions, gives us the four of wands, reversed. We have seen the four of wands in other readings pertaining to Sierra, and I think we still need to check the symbolism indicated by the card for location: this is a card of happy family celebrations, harvest completed, havens or refuges, or parks where people have picnics or outdoor parties. Once again, we see it reversed, so while the meaning remains the same, there is a chance that this location has either been abandoned or is not visited very often. In the third house, the house of short journeys, communications relating to business, memory and logic, and power; we find the Queen of Cups, reversed. This is a woman who is somehow connected to the case, and she has been hiding evidence and prevaricating to investigators. It is interesting that we see her in the house of "short journeys". She not only knows Sierra's location, but may have visited it. The fourth house, the "home environment", and coincidentally, the last days of life, give us the ace of wands, reversed. I do not think that we are being told of Sierra's home where she resided with her family; I think this is the "home environment" of the main crime scene. Wands point us south, but this wand is reversed; I think it is possible that the suspect began to go south with Sierra, but changed his mind, yet did not travel as far as he had originally intended. Sierra has not moved, but her locations has been "clouded", or obscured, at least once.

The fifth house, of creativity, love affairs, and children, presents the Devil, reversed. This is actually good news for the investigation, because when the Devil falls upside right, that speaks of bondage. Reversed, the meaning is release from bondage. The fifth house also points us to amusements and pleasures, which, once again, ties in with the imagery of a place used for recreation. In house six, the house of day to day life, work relationships, and domestic animals, we find the High Priestess. She is a symbol of secrets, and she also links to water. Once again, we have the reference of hidden influences, and we also have a feminine influence. But this is being done quite casually. In the seventh house, of marriage and divorce, close relationships, close partnerships, and the relation of all of those things to the general public, we have the Empress. The Empress is the "mother" card of the Tarot. Something that grabbed my attention is the remote and almost archaic symbolism on the card; the myrtle tree and branches traditionally go along with the Empress, and her crown traditionally has twelve stars. Venus is also symbolic, and sometimes she is pictured with seven pearls around her neck. These elements, somehow, deserve consideration. In the eighth house, which represents death, joint finances, and transitions, we see the Wheel of Fortune. This card represents the laws of cause and effect, and also can foretell an unexpected stroke of luck. As it is in the eighth house, which is death, I think we are being told that we may find the crime scene, as well as Sierra. The reference to cause and effect may refer to evidence and the presence of DNA.

In the ninth house, the house of long journeys, the social "establishment", law, and protection, we get the nine of cups. This card speaks of having plenty of resources, and is also a reference to "home", but home here is a place to eat and drink. The cups take us west, and the ninth house refers to travel, as does the third house, which, incidentally, also has a card from the suit of cups, pointing us a little to the west. The "home" symbolism tells us that the suspect(s) did not take Sierra too far from home, though. The tenth house, of social standing, career ambitions, relationships with superiors, and "father" relationships, gives us the Tower, which is a card of imprisonment and ruin. Overthrow of existing methods of investigation are indicated here, along with disruption of some type; yet all this may bring much needed enlightenment. Someone connected to the investigation appears to either be consciously or unconsciously "helping" the suspect, rather than helping Sierra's family find Sierra. The eleventh house, of hopes, hobbies, and friends, gives us the seven of cups. The seven of cups is a card of dreams, sometimes fantasy, but not of direct knowledge. The message on this is clear; Sierra's peers and friends do not know where she is. It is interesting to note that there is another "water" or "west" reference, though. In house number twelve, of secret, self undoing, and secret enemies, we find the Hanged Man. This is often a card of sacrifice and meditation, but I also see it as another reference to trees, a single tree, and water.

I hope this reading has helped. If I knew the area at all, it would be easier for me to link the symbolism to actual features in the landscape. I hope evidence, along with Sierra, can be found.

Why Won't Anyone Come Forward For Kyron Horman?

So why won't anyone who knows either what happened to Kyron Horman, or knows what may
have happened to Kyron Horman, come forward and testify? Because he has been missing
for five years, I decided to publish a reading on this question.

We start with a basis of the Empress, crossed by the six of pentacles, which is read
reversed in this case. The message is already quite clear: the Empress is the mother,
and the six of pentacles, reversed, says, "I want something I haven't gotten from you!" We have a
witness whose demands, either monetary or legal, have not, apparently, been met by
Kyron's family! Almost extortion.

The past in this case involves the ten of swords, which can be violence, or simply a
final ending. Along with this is the four of swords, reversed, which is a return to action,
after a period of dormancy. That is an interesting description of the past: a rather jarring
end, and yet a return to everyday activities.....it also tells us that there has been some
recent, if not publicly shared, activity in the case. The very best thing that can happen
here is represented by the ace of cups, which is a wonderful card for this position. It
means the renewal of hope, followed by the desires of the heart becoming reality. We
can only hope and pray. This is followed by the Wheel of Fortune, which is a great
thing happening, but as a surprise, and almost completely by chance. It seems, here,
that it is related to written and spoken words, information, and to a young person.

The Queen of Wands comes up in the place of self image here; this is a woman,
and her perspective of herself. She is someone who can help locate Kyron; she
sees herself as a protector of sorts. The card describing her environs is the four
of wands, reversed. This tells a story of family life, and changing situations, and
also a certain amount of clouded happiness and denial about the same. It is hard
to relate that to testimony about Kyron, however! The eight of cups appears to describe
this person's regrets, and this card appears when someone either works for something
and decides against it, in the end, or gets what he wants, yet is disappointed by it.
The last card is the King of Wands, who is usually a family man, and is usually
married. While the queen appears in the place of imaginations of sorts, the king is
part of reality, making him one of the factors to which any witnesses react. The
Empress and the King of Wands....the two people who want Kyron home the most.

Sadly, it appears, from the beginning of the reading, that witnesses have held out
over compensation of some sort. Vicious.

Sierra Lamar Update

Someone sent me a question concerning the direction of the Sierra Lamar case. It is disturbing to see another year pass by, with no resolution. Here is a link to Find Sierra Lamar, and I will attempt to do another reading. Sometimes, I am not sure there is anything to add to a cold case with another reading, but a lot of time has gone by in Sierra's case.

Someone recently asked me if there would be any answers in court, as the defendant in her case, Antolin Garcia-Torres, has not entered a plea and will not cooperate. So I will update by asking if there will be any answers in court.

We start with the six of pentacles, reversed, crossed by the eight of cups. The six of pentacles usually appears reversed to describe bad debts and fraud; it raises my eyebrows a bit to see it at the core of the answer to a question on a matter such as this! It is crossed by the eight of cups, which in this case, is read reversed. This card is telling us a story of joy, happiness, and of matters spiritual getting abandoned for matters material. If I didn't know better, it would appear that Antolin did not get paid for something, and is patiently waiting for a payday of some sort! Or at least for his efforts to be rewarded.

In the background of the entire situation, we find the five of cups, reversed, which is all about expectations in this positions. Antolin was either waiting for an old friend, or had just been introduced, by an old friend, to someone new. The Page of Pentacles is also in the background. This involves communication or a message of some sort, about Sierra. So it appears that Antolin had either just met Sierra, had just been introduced, or had been told about her, and had attempted to find her that morning......the last day she was seen alive. The Queen of Pentacles also appears; she is a woman who has looked for Sierra since she disappeared, and has not given up. The five of pentacles appears as a sign of things to come, and in answer to a question like this, I would have to say that it is new information or testimony that is finally going to be heard.

The ace of swords appears in the place of fears; this describes Antolin's fear about the justice system, specifically that new and relevant information will be revealed, and it also describes some growing fears among Sierra's friends and family that Antolin will not be held accountable. The environment surrounding this is, once again, about a reward or "getting paid", because the next card is the ten of pentacles. Sometimes, this card tells of money that was spent on a house or a business, but; once again, I cannot see how this would play into a question like this one. Temperance comes up in the place of hopes. There is still a waiting game being played......but then,,,,,the reading ends with the nine of wands, upside down. This is the very opposite of waiting! This is an obstacle thrown in the defendant's path. Still, there are going to be delays, as the defendant has no intention of cooperating. Any interactions he has with the outside world, particularly where he or those close to him get any financial resources, will be watched and scrutinized.

It still appears as is Sierra is not far from where she lived. Outside, in a place where there are small animals, such as gophers and turtles.

Search For William Tyrell

Three year old William Tyrell went missing over six months ago, so where is he, and what happened? We start out with the nine of cups, reversed, crossed by the five of swords. This is a message of revenge, in response to an imagined slight, or a "mistake" on someone's part, in some plan or process. Before this, the eight of swords, reversed, was the driving impetus. This has to do with removing one's self, or someone else, from a "trapped" position, and of gaining freedom. Somehow, these elements laid the groundwork for this child to disappear.

An event that led up to this is illustrated by the Page of Cups, which tells us that someone involved here had just begun something new in life, and was almost ready to announce and celebrate it. I often see this card in conjunction with a birth. But......not everyone shared the celebratory mood. The next card is the ten of swords, which is clearly a card of violence, and also a card I truly do not like to see in a missing person's reading. It is followed by more bad news, the six of wands, reversed. This is a card that often shows itself reversed when an enemy, or someone with criminal intent, finds a way to gain leverage. This card's presence is why I am leaning toward William's disappearance being deliberate, and not an accident.

The intentions of the perpetrator are shown by the four of pentacles, which is a card of the hoarder and miser. This is someone who has had setbacks, material and financial setbacks, and did not want someone close to William to enjoy new adventures or opportunities. It is also someone who does not like to share, and this time, the "feel" is that of a man in his thirties, or possibly early forties......I still say mid-thirties. It is followed by the ace of pentacles, reversed. This is public perception of the perpetrator's circumstances, and also the perpetrator's self image. The ace of pentacles reversed often refers not only to missed opportunities, but to crime, and money gotten through illicit means. A strong fear comes up as Judgment, reversed, which tells us that separation was, somehow, a motive for this crime. Sometimes, this card speaks to a fear of death, but as William is only three, I think this fear is on the part of the grownups. The last card is the six of swords, which is travel, often over water. While I see a lot of violence in this reading, and I see two cards that are often connected to murder, the ten of swords and reversed Judgment, and the reversed six of wands is almost always unfavorable news.......the six of swords is still a card of voyages. Maybe William can still be rescued. Swords point us east, and pentacles point us north. I will keep my fingers crossed.

What Happened To Tammy Mahoney?

Tammy Mahoney disappeared in 1981, and is presumed dead. Let's see if the Tarot can give us some ideas about her whereabouts and what happened to her.

The reading starts with the five of wands crossed by the page of swords. The five of wands is trickery; someone with key information has already played games with law enforcement and given deliberately misleading information. This person feels, somehow, more powerful, by withholding information. It's a bit like "owning" the situation. The incident in the past, leading up to this, involves traveling on a road that forked; the two of wands indicates a road that goes north/south for this. There is already a feeling that Tammy did not travel much further than the fork in the road. The next card is the Page of Pentacles. reversed. This indicates a difference of opinion Tammy had with someone, but to Tammy, it was not terribly important. Her companions that evening may have felt differently. The next card appears to describe a person involved in Tammy's disappearance. The Emperor, reversed, gives us an adult male who is immature for his age and possibly still lives at home......or at least, he did in 1981. The Emperor is usually an indication of a good father and a responsible man, but when it falls reversed, it often tells of a man who is not responsible for his children, and may owe child support for more than one child. Once again, this relates to this person's situation in 1981. The next card is the eight of wands, reversed. This is jealousy and arguments, as it falls reversed, but I am thinking that it may also be trying to tell us that "eight" is an important landmark or number.

The staff give is the four of cups, reversed, in the place of fears. Here we see, once again, that the perpetrator is afraid, for some reason, to move on productively in life and grow up. This card, reversed, in any other position in a reading would tell us that this person is content, but in this position, it means that he is afraid to relax and be content. The next card we have is the Lovers, reversed. This points us toward the situation when Tammy went missing. Usually, when this card appears reversed in a position describing the people around a situation or person, it tells of parents or a family who are not in favor or a person's choice of marriage or domestic partner. Somehow, this dynamic came into the picture, here, too. This is followed up by the ace of swords, reversed, in the place of desires. This is momentary, short lived power, and someone had made it a mission and a raison d`etre to "eliminate" Tammy. The only good news I see here is that the Knight of Cups, and man in his late thirties or early forties, is still looking for Tammy. The rest of the reading does not look promising; it appears as if Tammy was murdered, very likely shot, and buried somewhere off of a highway. Hopefully, she will be found soon.

What Happened To Robyn Pettinato?

Robyn Pettinato was last seen on July 5, 1975, in Whitefish, Montana. She was fourteen years old. Her family, reportedly, was very quiet about the subject after searches and investigations turned up nothing, so lets see what the cards can tell us.

We begin with Strength, reversed, crossed by the Queen of Wands. When Strength falls reversed, it usually tells a tale of abused authority. The Queen of Wands appears here as a strict, overbearing woman with a temper and a vicious streak. This is founded by a bad choice, described by the Fool, reversed. The Moon also appears in the background of this situation, telling us that secrets were kept from law enforcement by people who actually gave statements, but chose to omit key information. The Knight of Pentacles shows up in the realm of un-materialized possibilities; could he have been a love interest of Robyn's? Perhaps the subject of Robyn's encounter with "abused authority"? At the time, he was a young man between the ages of eighteen and twenty-two, or so.

The next card is the five of pentacles, reversed. This card is telling us that those involved in Robyn's situation did everything in their power to get the case closed and move on, without finding Robyn. It's almost as if someone in the picture has known Robyn's whereabouts all along. In the place of fears, we find the four of swords, reversed, which shows a perpetual fear of movement and activity in the case........what is desired is the situation described by this card in it's upright position: dormancy. Next, we have the four of pentacles, reversed. This describes obstacles and delays of some sort; were there obstacles in closing the case or in declaring Robyn dead? Another sidebar meaning of this card has to do with hoarding, but I cannot imagine what role hoarding would play here. The message is that someone waited and waited for a final decision about something until it was too late, and something was "hoarded" or clung to, until it could not be let go. The Knight of Wands appears as a gesture, or an appearance. It may have been speculated or rumored that Robyn left town with such a person, but if so, it was only rumor. This would not fit with the abuse we see in the beginning of the reading. It would fit with the deception that is described by the Moon. And the last card is the Empress. This card describes femininity and motherhood. Somehow, this was a factor in Robyn's disappearance. We are not told in the case history if Robyn was pregnant, but it seems that this idea may have had a bearing. It also appears that we are being told that Robyn was never far from home, as both of the cards with values of four appear in positions that often describe physical surroundings. Four is a Taoist number for family, and the fourth zodiacal house is the house of the "home", as in family. Sadly, I would not be surprised to find that the answers to Robyn's case can be found very close to home.

Will There Be Answers About The Lyon Sisters?

There are now two persons of interest named in the case of the Lyon sisters, who disappeared in Maryland in 1975. There was a massive search in Bedford County, Virginia, and the grand jury is deliberating about charges. The question is, will we find answers through these developments?

We start with the five of pentacles, which speaks of destitution and loneliness. This describes where the girls actually are. It is crossed by the World, which is triumph and achievement. While the desolation of the five of pentacles is not good news, it is rather expected after all these years. The World is a good sign, although investigators are still working at finding answers. The Star appears as a foundation for the recent search......a reliable tip was received. It was followed by the three of swords, which tells us a little more about the tip. There is an element of infighting between involved parties here; someone either heard a secret he or she did not want to keep, or someone divulged information out of malice toward another party. Either way, there was discord involved. The ten of cups appears as a possibility, which means that this lead may, indeed, finally bring the Lyon sisters home.

The Knight of Pentacles appears as a young to middle aged man who is searching for the girls. He is moving slowly, not only in physical searches through rural places which must be physically dug up, or unearthed, (earth is represented by pentacles) but through information and paperwork, as well. Answers will come slowly, but he is not going to give up.

The six of swords appears as a motivating factor, in some way. It is a fear of travel, or movement, on one person's part. Location, location........if it were a location, it would be a body of water big enough for a boat and deep enough for travel. The five of cups follows, as someone's unshared knowledge. It also has to do with disappointment over an inheritance, or frustration because a reward or payment was not as large as expected. Most Tarot decks show the five cups near a stream or a river. The five of swords follows this, in the place of hopes. This is clearly revenge, which, once again, gives credence to the idea introduced by the three of swords that came up earlier, showing some infighting among parties. The five of swords in the place of desires clearly details revenge. The last card here is the one true problem with finding answers through this investigation; it is the Page of Swords, reversed. Here we have someone who has shared information, but with ulterior motives, and who has not really shared ALL the information he or she knows. Hopefully, the Knight of Pentacles will persevere, and yes, it looks as if we may get answers through these proceedings.

Honing In On Brian Patrick Miller

The question of how to find Brian Miller was posed to me, and he still has not been found, seen or heard from, so I will put this question to the Tarot, and see if any new ideas result.

We start with Temperance, crossed by the four of pentacles in answer to the question of how Brian can be found. So it looks like we have the beginnings of a good mixture of investigative skills suddenly shut down, via information being withheld, for some reason. Beneath this is the ten of wands, reversed, which bespeaks duplicity. But is this on the part of law enforcement or a witness? The next card is the ace of pentacles. Somehow, this seems like a lead or a tip, when it appears in relation to this question. As a location, it refers to earth, and possibly a small flower garden.

A distinct possibility here is described by the eight of pentacles, reversed, which tells me that we are looking at an unethical use of skills somewhere in the investigation, so that helps to answer the question concerning who would withhold information. This is followed by the seven of cups, which is delusions of grandeur, or lots of discussion about unrealistic possibilities. So a definite problem exists in the investigation.

The Knight of Pentacles appears in the place of fears. There is some perceived reason for someone to be afraid of Brian being found. In the place of environment, we have the High Priestess, reversed, which is feminine influence and superficiality. Somewhere, connected to this case, is a woman who delivers half truths and gets away with evasiveness with law enforcement. Not enough is known about her connection to Brian's case to force her to testify. Also, as a location, the seven of cups and the High Priestess would indicate water. I would say water, pillars, palm trees, and perhaps a statue. The three of cups appears as a desire, which is obviously the desire to find Brian and have a happy ending to this story. It is also another water card, but this time, it's mundane location description is, once again, of a garden; possibly at an estate or a house where lavish parties have been thrown. The last card here is the Queen of Swords, letting us know that in order to cut to the chase, a court order will be required. This Queen represents legal or judicial authority; she may be a prosecutor or a judge. It may be a good idea to write a letter to whoever oversees the agency responsible for the investigation, or for Brian's family to contact their state representative, and get the ball rolling that way.

What Happened To Sarah And Jacob Hoggle?

Sarah and Jacob Hoggle are both missing from Montgomery County, Maryland. Jacob was last seen with his mother, Catherine Hoggle, on Sunday, September 8, and Sarah was last seen with her mother the following day. Catherine is now in jail, refusing to reveal the whereabouts of both children, so I will see what the Tarot has to say.

We start with a base consisting of the nine of wands crossed by the Magician, only the Magician is reversed in this case, so his energies are not helpful. The nine of wands indicates that the person who began this course of events, Catherine, was patiently waiting for the right time. This was planned. When we see the Magician reversed, we know to look for abuses of power, and abusive behavior that is rooted in weakness and sometimes, passive aggressiveness. The eight of cups is beneath this, as a contributing factor. This card describes a situation in which one is not happy with choices made or wages earned, after thinking one would be. Next, we have Strength, reversed, which is, once again, telling us that power was abused, only this time, it refers mainly to physical power. So we have a person who felt disinterested in a situation or relationship because she felt that her own choices were overridden or ignored, and power had somehow been abused against her by someone, and we see it manifested again, in her behavior. Somehow, the children are not appearing as anything but pawns to the main player.

A possibility is described by the Knight of Wands, who is a man between the ages of twenty-two and about forty who is capable of "thinking outside the box" at times like this. He is someone who can gather information and communicate, and he somehow has input. Also, the Hermit appears, showing the ongoing search for these children. As a location, this card often indicates hilly terrain, with footpaths. The Hermit's time of day is evening.

In the place of emotional actions and needs, we have the six of pentacles. This message is clear; someone will have to bargain and barter in order to get the necessary information to find these children quickly. Even so, there is still a lack of perception in the part of the main player, here, concerning the importance of finding Jacob and Sarah. In the place of environment, we have the Page of Pentacles, which is the most encouraging card in this reading. This card can portend a young person who enjoys studying and learning, yet it also often tells of important messages. So it appears that a valid message or tip finally comes in. The next card, in the place of desires, is the seven of cups. This is often a card of dreams, or ideas that have not been developed into practical, workable plans. But there is another possibility: as this card is a water card, and as there is also a Seven Locks Road, near the Potomac River, in that part of Montgomery County, Maryland, perhaps it should also be searched. The last card is the Knight of Cups, reversed. Cups are symbolic of water, and when this knight falls reversed, one can also expect deceit and trickery. I honestly think this relates mostly to the testimony given by the mother, so far. I also think the seven of cups may have a triple meaning here, not only telling us about watery locations and half baked plans, but about delusions held by the mother as fact. Sadly, I do not think there will be a happy ending to all this, although I always hope I am wrong about this type of conclusion.

Where Is Morgan Martin?

Someone asked me for an update to the missing persons case of Morgan Keyanna Martin, who disappeared in Florida. She was five months pregnant, and only expected to be outside for a couple of minutes. It's been over two years since anyone has seen her.

My update dealt primarily with the question of where Morgan is now. The first three cards, representing the past, are the Sun, the King of swords, and Temperance. This describes Morgan's ideas before she went missing. The Sun tells of success and happiness, Temperance is careful combinations, and the King of Swords is an older male thrown into the situation. I believe the Sun is Morgan's pregnancy, and Temperance represents her new considerations for her health and her future. The King is a man who bore some sort of influence on matters.

The next three cards are the Knight of Pentacles, the eight of pentacles, reversed, and The Last Judgment. The Knight of Pentacles is a young man closer to Morgan's age, possibly the father of her child. I would expect him to have an olive to dark complexion, and brown eyes. The eight of pentacles reversed tells us that the Knight had some problems related to employment, in that he was not particularly gifted in his chosen field, but as the card appears in a reading about Morgan, we may safely assume that there was some blame of her, on his part, for this. He was wrong, but perhaps sincerely wrong. The Last Judgment has come up in readings for Morgan in the past, and we see it again. This is a card of renewal, but as a physical location, it speaks of recovery from water. Lakes, bays, and rivers deep enough for sailing.

The last three cards, representing the future, are the three of pentacles, Strength, reversed, and the eight of swords. The three of pentacles refers almost directly to the Knight of Pentacles, who came up earlier. Apparently, circumstances have calmed a bit, in his life. When Strength appears reversed, it tells of abuses of power, and the King of Swords we saw earlier is often a powerful person. As he is older than the Knight of Pentacles and Morgan, he may have had more sway in the course of events, leading to Morgan's disappearance, than anyone else involved. I do not like to see him combined with any card that speaks of abuses of power. The last card, which is the most troubling, is the eight of swords, which in many decks, depicts a maiden trapped in water, surrounded by eight swords. As the card is upright, I take it to mean that Morgan is trapped somewhere. As a location, it also tells of water. Eight, curiously, is also the numeric value of Strength. Somehow, this number fits in....eight deep, eight to the west, ect. The gist of the message and the cards containing the most pertinent clues do not seem to have changed; water, two men, and ulterior motives playing a role. I wish the reading had delivered happier news.

Kara Kopetsky

Kara Kopetsky, of Belton, Missouri, was last seen at her school on May 4, 2007. She was initially listed as a runaway by law enforcement, but it has been seven years....an awfully long time for a runaway to stay hidden. So I will put the obvious questions to the Tarot.

We begin with the seven of swords, reversed, crossed by the eight of swords. The seven of swords generally denotes a theft, or an effort that is incomplete due to lack of ability or resources....the subject is attempting to take or do something he or she does not have a right to take or do. But here, it is reversed, but crossed by the eight of swords, a card of entrapment and restraint. What this gives us is a picture of someone who THOUGHT he or she could either take or get away with something, but actually couldn't. It was tried, though. The background for this is the King of Wands, who is an unyielding older male whose advice should have been followed, and the six of cups, a card of childhood and memories. So a deeper picture of a conflict here has to do with being a child vs. being an adult, and being recognized as an adult. Somehow, and I am not sure where this fits.....a yellow cat seems to be part of the scenario.

Above this, we have the Empress, who is the mother in this situation. Kara's mother is still looking for her, and will not stop until Kara is found. And a future event is Judgement, which is a renewal of search efforts for some reason, possibly an overlooked clue suddenly come to light. As a physical location and event, this card would literally depict an object suddenly being revealed in water deep enough for hidden objects, such as a lake or a reservoir. The swords point us east, yet not east.....once again, the seven is reversed. I would expect the answer to lead us somewhere rather close to where Kara was last seen, within thirty miles.

The Emperor appears at the base of the staff; he is a male with authority in this case, and if not Kara's father, has an air of fatherly authority. He is upside right, so I will assume he is kindly disposed toward Kara, and looking for her, as is her mother. The six of pentacles appears in the place of environment, lending an element of "you get what you pay for", or "give and take" to this situation. Did someone perceive Kara as owing money? Was some sort of blackmail involved here? This card points to a trade or an exchange as having taken place between Kara and someone immediately before she disappeared. The next card is a card of regret: the five of cups. The regret is not on Kara's part, however; it is on the part of the last person to see her. While this person would be a man, I am not seeing a romantic relationship. In fact, the nature of the acquaintance between Kara and this person may have been the source of tension between Kara and the King of Wands. But the five of cups speaks to regret and loss, things that were not intended. It is also another water card. The last card we have is the Moon. The Moon is often psychic knowledge, but can also indicate deception and can tie into the aspect of that which is hidden by the High Priestess. We can be quite certain that Kara probably did not run away from home, but encountered some very bad circumstances that were covered up and well hidden. As a physical location, the Moon is also a watery card, specifically in a place where the reflection of the moon can be seen on the water.

I wish this reading could have given us a more positive outlook. I always advise not to ever give up or stop looking for a missing person until he or she is found.
