Is Brett Kavanaugh Responsible For threats To Christine Blasey Ford?

Amid all the upheaval about the Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, and allegations of sexual assault against Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, in 1982 when they were both in high school, I decided to see what the cards would tell me. I did a Celtic Cross reading, and the results were very interesting. As I shuffled the cards, the ten of wands fell out, and landed reversed. The ten of wands in reversal forecasts treachery and duplicity, which is rather ominous, considering the question.

The reading begins with the King of Wands, reversed, crossed by the four of cups, also read reversed, here. The reversed King of Wands is an unyielding, argumentative man, and I am going to assume that he represents Brett Kavanaugh. When the four of cups falls reversed, it betokens new and novel approaches to problems. This is beginning to appear as if Mr. Kavanaugh is looking ways other than simply telling the truth in order to manage the situation he is in, with the allegations. Beneath this, we have the six of cups, reversed. Often, this card in reversal tells about someone who clings desperately to outworn ideals and notions, but sometimes, it also tells of a "gift" from the past! And so he has one!

The four of pentacles shows up in the place of matters moving into the past. This is a love of political power, and, once again, clinging to that which is no longer useful. As a flipside to this interpretation, Mr. Kavanaugh's "usefulness" to Donald Trump may be on the decline.

As a hope on the part of Mr. Kavanaugh, we are getting the seven of cups. Mr. Kavanaugh has scattered his resources in too many directions, and the best thing for him to do would be to ground himself and recognize that he cannot change history and no longer controls the narrative, here. In the very near future, we have the five of pentacles, which shows that Mr. Kavanaugh is not only worried, but losing support, even among his own party. Sometimes, this card refers to a sexual conquest that did not work out. Hmmmm. I am inclined to conclude that he is culpable and that Dr. Ford is telling the truth.

In the place of fears, we see the eight of cups, which tells us that Mr. Kavanaugh is afraid that after he has come this far, he will have to abandon his course of action. Next, in the place of environment, we have the nine of swords, which means worry, doubt, delay, misery, and the like. That is what's eating Mr. Kavanaugh, right now. The Tower, reversed, appears in the place of hopes. While Mr. Kavanaugh feels oppressed, he is hoping to impose the same feelings on Dr. Ford. His personal threats to her probably involve legal repercussions, (he's a public figure, so he does not have that recourse) but if she was harmed in any way, he would not mind a bit. The last card is the High Priestess, reversed. This is surface knowledge and conceit. It is also very telling; some of the threats actually are coming from sources closer to Mr. Kavanaugh than suspected. He may not be able to recite the threats, word for word, but he is aware that this is being done on his behalf. This explains the "creative" approach shown by the reversed King of Wands crossed by the reversed four of cups. The treachery described by the reversed ten of wands also screams that his camp bears some responsibility. Luckily, U.S.Marshals are looking into this.

Paul Manafort's Trial

In light of recent news stories about Paul Manafort and his trial for bank fraud, money laundering, violating a federal lobbying disclosure law, obstruction of justice, and over twenty-five other unlawful odds and ends, I decided to do a reading about the trial, which began this week. My curiosity is piqued, not only about the outcome of the trial, but about the trial itself and its nuances in relation to others whose affairs are on Robert Mueller's radar. With that in mind, the reading will be a horoscope spread, since that type of reading often generates more information, albeit the final outcome isn't always as clear. Here goes:

We begin with the four of swords, reversed, in the first house; the house of self and of the actual charges and case, here. The four of swords, when it falls reversed, tells of sudden, renewed activity and social unrest. It also advises circumspection and caution about spending money, and it appears that Manafort used very little caution. This card points to Manafort's cavalier behavior as the reason he was so handily caught and arrested. It also shows us that regardless of the testimony of witnesses, there is a paper trail and an electronic trail in this case. Next, in the second house, of wealth, possessions, and prospects, we have the two of pentacles, also reversed. Here, we have an inability to balance two financial opposites, and we also have feigned happiness. This shows us that Manafort's checkbook did not always balance, and that Manafort had a tendency to pretend that it did. Following this, in the third house, which governs short trips, communication, business and commerce, and sometimes, relatives; we have the Knight of Wands, reversed. When this knight falls reversed, he is often a jealous and disruptive man, but he can also auger an event. Perhaps it is both, here. It would definitely describe a covetous and jealous middle aged man, always wanting more of everything; and it would also describe the arrest, complete with the "no knock" warrant that was served on Manafort in July of 2017. The cavalier behavior of this knight is one of the reasons he stood out as a possible criminal.

In the fourth house, of home environment and property, including real estate, we have the Page of Wands. This card can indicate a young person with something to say, or it can be a message. I rather think that this is one of the witnesses, here, and this witness knows a lot about Paul Manafort's homes and other real estate holdings. This witness is testifying and cooperating with prosecutors.

The fifth house brings us to a new theme in this case, and that is evidence. The fifth house is the house of creativity and amusement, and often, children. In it, we find the ten of wands. The ten of wands signifies an attempt to put something to rest that either did not work out well, or has ended. In this position, I interpret it to mean that someone close to Manafort, perhaps a family member, attempted to destroy or dispense with evidence. This will be featured in the prosecution's case. The sixth house, of health, day to day affairs, and inconveniences show the nine of cups. This may look like a partial victory for Manafort, as it shows he has enjoyed good health up until now, and has never lacked material comforts. Perhaps there has been too much focus on this, both by the prosecution, and by Manafort, during his pretrial life! He still has the best of everything material that a man in his position can have, and that includes legal representation.

In the seventh house, of partnerships, marriage and divorce, agreements, and of public perception, we see the three of wands. This augers that both the prosecution and the defense will have help and testimony from experts and from successful persons who have worked with Manafort in the past. This may look good for Manafort, but the eighth house, which is directly connected to the seventh house via monetary agreements with partners, gives us the two of wands, reversed. This is a warning that the prosecution has the upper hand here, in one way or another, and that any "help" offered to Manafort could easily backfire. The eighth house is also a house of death, loss, and karma. Manafort may find himself indefinitely dominated by others.

The ninth house governs long journeys, overseas matters, and law. In it, we have the four of pentacles, which is the proverbial card of the miser. Material possessions, once again, seem to feature prominently in this case. The suggestion is that Manafort still owns a few assets overseas, and this will factor into the case against him. Next, in the tenth house of career, ambition, and social status, we have Judgement, reversed. The verdict almost doesn't matter: Manafort will never fully recover from this trial. This card also speaks to a loss of worldly goods, and it certainly augers an end to some of the delusions with which Manafort fooled himself. He really thought he would never go to jail, and that's where he is, right now, while this case is tried.

The two of swords appears in the eleventh house of debates, friends, and social life. This card carries a couple of different meanings, here. It is a card of balanced forces, and it sometimes signals a stalemate. It could warn of a "hung jury", or that Manafort will enter a plea before the end of his trial. As it appears in a house that governs social life, it still shows that this matter will not necessarily end with this trial, and that his personal life is still in a state of suspense. More charges and another trial, perhaps? Another possible message on this card could be about the length of the trial, which will probably be about two weeks, give or take a day.

The last card, in the twelfth house, of secrets, self undoing, enemies, institutions, and sometimes, death, gives us the Fool, reversed. This shows faulty choices, and also shows that there will likely be a guilty verdict, at least on a few of the charges; and that there will be an appeal. It does not appear likely that Manafort will be a free man any time soon, and there is a suggestion that a plea bargain prior to the beginning of the trial would have been a better choice.

I will follow this up after the trial is over, as I have never done a reading quite like this one. Thank you for reading, everyone.

Update: On August 21, 2018, Paul Manafort was found guilty of eight of the charges lodged against him. Ten charges were declared "mistrial".

Who Killed Michelle Martinko?

Michelle Martinko was murdered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1979, at a shopping mall. To this day, her killer has not been caught. So we will see what the Tarot can tell us about the culprit, and a motive.

I used a horoscope spread for this reading. In the first house, we get the perpetrator, who is described here as the King of Cups, reversed. This is a man who is not only dishonest, but violent......as we already know. Look for him to have been a bit older than eighteen year old Michelle. Not much older chronologically, but more experienced. In the second house, which tells us about the means and resources by which this crime was committed, we see the six of wands. This means that the killer's most convenient tool was the ability to get Michelle's attention and trust. Had she simply ignored him, history might have panned out differently. Next, in the third house, of short journeys and communication, we have the ten of pentacles. This house also deals with memory and memories; and with inheritance. In the mundane aspect, this card's appearance here has me wondering if there is or was surveillance from a bank that could help; or perhaps, and employee from from a bank who saw something. In more personal terms, it is possible that there was some discussion between Michelle and her killer about money, gifts, or shopping. She wasn't robbed, so this will not lead us to the motive.

In the fourth house, we get some solid information about the killer. This house deals with the home environment and property, and the card that comes up is the eight of pentacles, reversed. The message is clear: whoever committed this crime was unethical in his use of his employment skills, and may have had trouble keeping a job. In the fifth house, of creativity and pleasure, we find the eight of wands. This is a bit sick and disturbing; it points to an individual who finds violence amusing. Also, it points to someone who really thought this murder would resolve something. Following this, in the sixth house, we get the seven of cups. The sixth house is all about mundane, everyday relationships and it also covers work relationships.....yet the seven of cups is about illusions and delusions. Could this killer have mistaken Michelle for someone who had wronged him? Or could Michelle have resembled someone he didn't like, or reminded him of someone against whom he had a grudge? This is pointing very strongly to the killer and Michelle possibly knowing each other as acquaintances, but Michelle not having done anything, at all, to arouse his paranoia.

The seventh house of partnerships gives us the ace of wands, reversed. Once again, we are directed to the killer's problems with employment and work relationships. Somehow, this played a role. In the eighth house, of death, legacies, karma, and debt, we have the Wheel of Fortune, which is lucky chance. So our killer had intentions of killing someone, and his opportunity with Michelle constituted "luck", inasmuch as he was concerned! Next, in the ninth house, of law, higher education, "the establishment", and long journeys, we have the Empress, which is the "mother" card in the deck. At the surface, this truly appears to add to the confusion, especially about the motive, but there are some possible interpretations. This is an influence or a person who is not only motherly, but productive. This is not Michelle, but the real reason for the killer's rage.

The tenth house deals with ambition and career goals, and in this house, we get the Star. This is inspiration, and some sort of assistance that the killer got; he had a very good enabler. In fact, it may have been his own mother, harking back to the Empress. That is why he hasn't been identified. In the eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, friends, and social life; we have the Sun. This tells me that the killer has been in plain sight for much of this time, undetected, socializing and living his life. In the twelfth house, of secrets and secret enemies, we have the four of cups, reversed. The four of cups reversed speaks of new relationships and moving on to new circumstances. Seeing it here, in the twelfth house of secrets and self undoing, it appears that the killer moved on, after killing Michell Martinko, and successfully covered his tracks.

Update: A man named Jerry Lynn Burns has been arrested and will go on trial in the murder of Michelle Martinko. He was found through DNA that was left at the crime scene.

Update For Morgan Martin

Morgan Martin has been missing for almost three years. I have had several requests for an update, and there are times when I do not thing there is anything to add to what the cards have already told us, but the lack of progress in this case is disappointing. Something that I do not think was covered very well in the media has to do with testimony, tips to law enforcement, and possible suspects. I decided to ask the cards if there is any light to be shed on that.

We have a basis of the five of wands, reversed, crossed by the Star. There have clearly been some compromises in this case and some rather deliberate slights in the investigation. The Star is read reversed here, and it shows that there is a lot of doubt in police and their management of the search for Morgan. This is based by the Page of Cups, reversed. This page is a young person who has given false information to police. A little bit of digging, or re-interviewing the last persons to have seen Morgan will yield better information from this young person. The two of wands is in the past, this is a physical struggle, which Morgan lost. The three of swords appears as a strong possibility, which is in-fighting, and familial and possibly political strife. So we can see that there was a person police did not want to interview or charge, being protected at Morgan's expense. Then, we have the Queen of Cups, reversed. I do not like to see her here, because she represents a female who is either protecting a guilty party, obstructing justice with false testimony, or denying justice to Morgan and her family. Look for her to be connected to the guilty party as a lover, spouse, or very close family member.

The King of Pentacles appears in the general atmosphere of this whole matter, and he is ready to hear the truth when someone comes forward with it. Right now, his hands are tied by lack of evidence; he is waiting to either find Morgan or have enough evidence for charges in this case to stick. Not knowing exactly what happened is difficult, but murder case have been won without finding the victims, and in this age of DNA evidence, he knows it's possible to present such a case.....so says the Temperance card. In the middle of all this, the six of pentacles, reversed, says there is someone feeling that insistence on solving the case is somehow "unfair", or "asking too much"! But the reading ends with the three of pentacles, which is the card of skill, and in this case, the skill would be that of detectives and investigators. The suggestion is that the case will be solved by these skills; and that the biggest problem here is obstruction of justice by the woman represented by the reversed Queen of Cups.
