Why Did Sierra Lamar Disappear?

A couple of weeks ago, a reader contacted me with some possible theories concerning a missing teenager named Sierra Lamar. Sierra was last seen on March 16, 2012, while waiting for the school bus. Since then, a suspect by the name of  Antolin Garcia Torres was identified, prosecuted, and convicted, yet Sierra has never been found. The reader had some questions concerning possible co-defendants and motives that have never been explored, along with places that have not been searched. I decided to do an update, asking about it.

The question I am asking is "why did Sierra Lamar disappear?" I will do a horoscope spread, which should reveal many dynamics in the situation in one reading. While the Tarot cannot give us names and addresses, per se, understand why something happened can lead us to reliable theories and clues.

visit counter for blogspot
We begin with the six of pentacles, reversed, in the first house of potential and the beginnings of the situation, itself. This card, reversed, refers to bad debts and bribes, both of which probably did not involve Sierra directly, as she was a minor. The second house deals with finances and possessions, we have have Temperance, here. Temperance is a blending of physical elements, or cooperation between people, so I must wonder if this refers to an agreement, or a broken agreement. Moving along to the third house, we have the four of cups, reversed. Third house significations are familial relationships, written words, and communication of all kinds. The card that landed here is the four of cups, reversed, which shows a new direction for matters to take, based upon communication. So far, it appears that there was an agreement that did not actually involve Sierra, and that there was premeditation to kidnap her, that day.

The fourth house, of environment and home surroundings, gives us the nine of swords, which is worry. This card has a double meaning: Sierra's family was and is worried, and the motive for taking her was a dark one. This is a card of grief. In the fifth house, of creativity, we have the five of swords....a card of violence and revenge. It is descriptive of the perpetrator and his perspective, and I hate to see it in the fifth house. It shows someone attempting to hurt an individual or family, and dreaming up mean spirited ways to do it. The sixth house, of known enemies and inconveniences, shows us the eight of cups, reversed, which is a card of mirth and happiness when upside down. This, too, is from the perpetrator's perspective. He did the horrible thing he attempted to do. The seventh house, of agreements and partnerships, has the Queen of Cups, reversed. I do not think this is Sierra; in fact, I think the perpetrator had problems with someone else, and just used Sierra as proverbial "punching bag". This is a woman from whom the perpetrator  experienced an imagined slight. The eighth house goes hand in hand with the seventh house, as it symbolizes the results and assets of partnerships, such as joint bank accounts or co-owned property of any kind. It also refers to death, but that is not its only signification. The card here is the Page of Cups, and I believe that is Sierra. It shows a youth who is creative and imaginative, and its placement in the eight house shows that there was something the perpetrator wanted from her, that morning, but did not get.

In the ninth house, of education and and ideals, we get the Knight of Swords, reversed, who I believe is the perpetrator. This knight often represents violence, and the coming or going of a toxic or lethal situation. It's a card I hate to see in a reading like this, and I truly hope I am wrong in my interpretations, here. The tenth house, of public matters, gives us the nine of pentacles, reversed. When the nine of pentacles falls reversed, the message is simply failure; possibly from a lack of independent ideas or input from dishonest sources. There hasn't been any new information to make public in quite some time. In the eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, and helpful people, we have the King of Cups. He would be a professional who knows what he's doing, and can help with forensic evidence and in interpreting the data that's already been given to him. The twelfth house, of secrets and endings, gives us the Queen of Swords, who is a woman, probably law enforcement at some level, who has information that has not been made public. I am encouraged to see her here, because that means that someone is still trying to solve the case.

As for where Sierra might be found, nine seems to be a significant number. The fourth house card, of environment, is the nine of swords. Nine parts, or possibly nine miles, are possible messages. Then, in the ninth house, we have the card of the perpetrator, himself, showing up as the Knight of Swords, reversed. I believe he acted alone, but in retaliation for something that might not have even happened. His whole reason for being where he was that morning was to harm someone. Then, in the tenth house, we have another nine, this one being the reversed nine of pentacles. This card is a bit troubling, since one of its meanings is a cancelled project. I believe this may have been a cancelled search in a critical area, and I hope efforts are made to double down on this in the future. I think the defendant who was prosecuted was the right person, but I think someone else, possibly a woman (the reversed Queen of Cups in the seventh house) may be holding back information that could help bring some closure.

What's Next In Sierra Lamar Case?

Now that Antolin Garcia-Torres has been found guilty of the murder of missing fifteen year old Sierra Lamar and sentenced to life in prison, or California, there are still remaining questions to answers were never given, during the trial. Most of the questions that come to this site are about finding Sierra, and Garcia-Torres has never shared any information that would assist in this, despite the DNA linking him to the crime that was found in his car and on his personal possessions. So I will ask this question about Sierra's whereabouts, now that the suspect is in prison.

This is a Celtic Cross reading, and my questions was primarily about finding Sierra. I do believe that the right defendant was tried in court and found guilty, so I did not ask about that aspect of the case. The first card is the Queen of Cups, and she is crossed by the Hanged Man, which is read reversed, here. The initial situation is outlined here; Sierra's mother, and the rest of her family want answers and the Hanged Man in reversal has refused to give them. Something else here, though, is that both cards are "watery" cards. Put together, they could show a place where there is a statue, possibly of a woman, and a geometric shape that may look like a cross, a "T", or a triangle. Shallow water has come up in other readings about Sierra, and it does in this one, too.

Beneath this, as a founding cause, we have Death, reversed. That message is quite clear; and Sierra has not moved. At the very edge of this card in Ryder Waite decks, the Death card has an image of the sun peeking out between two towers. Perhaps this is something that has been missed, but I would expect to see stone stone markers of some sort, or signs, rather than towers. This is followed by the three of pentacles, reversed, which we have also seen in previous readings. Garcia-Torres's former workplace bears some sort of connection, either to Sierra or to the crime. The King of Pentacles appears as a man who might help, either in convincing Garcia-Torres that he has nothing to lose by telling authorities where to find Sierra, or by leading more searches, one of which actually succeeds. Someone we WILL be hearing about in the near future is the Page of Cups---reversed. This is a young person who is not terribly loyal. He (this card could also be a "she", but in this reading, I think it is a "he") has some dirt on Garcia-Torres, has heard Garcia-Torres talk, or knows some productive gossip and may be willing to give it up. One of the symbols on this card is a fish in the Page's cup, and I would not be at all surprised if fishing is part of the entire picture, here.

The first card on the Staff, giving us the negative emotions surrounding the matter, is the Moon, reversed. When the Moon appears reversed, we are dealing with the clearing up of deceptions and misconceptions, and peace gained at a cost. This, I think, harks back to the reversed Page of Cups. Is he unwilling to spill his secrets for free? The next card, that showing environment, is the King of Cups. Once again, we have a watery card. But this influence is masculine, and I think this is a man. Perhaps he is the one who puts the all of the tips and evidence together. In the place of desires, we have the six of pentacles, which refers to even trade; you get what you pay for....it is safe to say that someone wants to be paid. The last card, the final outcome, is the eight of swords, which has also shown itself in previous readings for Sierra. It shows a woman trapped by eight swords in shallow water, and I still think that shallow water plays a big role, here.

I hope this case is completely resolved soon.

Original Night Stalker

The unknown rapist dubbed the Original Night Stalker was active in California 1976 to 1986. He was primarily active in Sacramento and in parts of southern California. DNA and other forensic evidence has linked him to at least twelve murders and over fifty sexual assaults on women. He has also been called the Diamond Knot Killer, the East Area Rapist, and the Golden State Killer. Someone asked me to do a reading about him, so I will see what the cards might tell us. So who is this Original Night Stalker? And what finally happened to him? Someone asked me to ask the cards, so I will do just that!

In the first house, of personality and appearance, we see the six of wands. This tells us that we are would look for a man with who knows how to communicate and present himself. He also has a falsely exalted opinion of himself. Look for a man between 5'11" and 6'1" tall, with light brown or blondish hair. Of course, the hair may be greying and the hairline receding by now! The second house of money and possessions shows the Hermit; our stalker does not invest too publicly or have joint accounts or partners in business. He is a loner. We see the Lovers in the third house, showing that he does have family, and possibly a girlfriend or a wife. The third house also governs short journeys and written communication.......this may mean that a former or current romantic partner knows about his past and his covering for him. The Sun falls in his fourth house, of home environment. The stalker's family sees him in a very positive light, and would be shocked to hear about his criminal past. Also, this could be a mundane reference to the state of California!

Moving on to the fifth house, of creativity and sexuality, we find the Tower. The Tower is a card of all kinds of conflict and mayhem, so it is no surprise to find this card in the fifth house! As the card is upside right, all of the stalker's problems are unresolved. Next, in the sixth house, of work relationships and day to day life, we find the King of Wands. This may be a workmate or an employer. Another aspect of the sixth house is worry, and the King of Wands is usually an upstanding and good man; it is quite possible that the stalker worries that this King suspects him of current or past faults. This is a man who makes the stalker uncomfortable. The seventh house, of important partnerships, such as marriage, gives us Strength, reversed. We can expect our stalker to be involved in an abusive relationship. When Strength falls reversed, this often means abuse of institutionalized power, and as we see it in the seventh house, we can see that he would be an abusive husband or lover. Next, in the eighth house, of karma, death, joint finances and legacies, we have the ace of swords. This house also governs debt, and its symbolic body part is the genitals. Somehow, this is linked to karmic debt, and a debt to society. It should come as no surprise to him that his DNA, left at crime scenes, has already identified him! All we really lack is a name. The ace of swords tells us that he may have a child, whose DNA also provides a link. Swords also often refer to information, and at some point, we can expect information from all parts of his life to converge, and someone will put it all together.

The ninth house, of long journeys, protection, foreign countries, and the establishment and the law, gives us Judgement. This is encouraging, because Judgement and the law go hand in hand. The scope of the investigation will come as a surprise to the stalker and his family. Because Judgement appears upside right, I believe he will be caught. Because it is in the ninth house, he may try to hide somewhere far away from where he committed his crimes. In the tenth house, which governs career and ambition, and one's standing in the world, we have the Moon. Despite the stalker's best efforts, he is seen as a liar and creep. He has not have very good relationships with superiors at any job he has had, either. In the eleventh house, of friends and social life, the nine of wands shows up. In light of the rest of the reading, this is not encouraging. This shows our stalker never quite making friends, but always on the fringes of social circles. He is a loner, appearing to be......just waiting for something. The twelfth house, the house of self undoing, secrets, and secret enemies, gives us the Magician. Someone who knows what he is doing will eventually find the stalker. The stalker appears to have found victims within his own little microcosm, or circle of "family" members, but I believe he will, at some point, be matched with forensic evidence from the past.

Pearl Pinson

On May 25 of 2016, a fifteen year old girl named Pearl Pinson was abducted on her way to school in Vallejo, California. Since then, a suspect has been identified and shot during a conflict with law enforcement and an attempt to flee and elude, but no one has located Pearl. Someone recently requested that I do a reading about this case, so I will ask the obvious question concerning her whereabouts.

We begin with the World, crossed by the four of swords. Usually, the World is a card of success and opportunity, and Pearl's day may very well have begun that way. Another meaning of this card is travel, and also being outside. Its number in the Major Arcana is twenty-one, which may be a significant number, here. It is crossed by the four of swords, which indicates that there is a temporary lull in activity right now. This is based by Death. Death usually does not foretell an actual death, but in the case of a missing person or a crime victim, it is not a good card to see at any point in a reading. This card may also bear a double meaning: it may refer not only to Pearl, but to the suspect who was shot and killed by law enforcement. It is followed by the two of swords, which reinforces the message given by the four; a stalemate or a standoff of some type, regarding resolution of Pearl's case.

Moving into possibilities for the future, we have the two of wands. Here, we see the use of practical and scientific methods and police work. The case is still open, and law enforcement has not given up. Next, we have the nine of swords, which shows us doubt and delay. We also sometimes see this card to describe mourning; it may be a warning that this will result, here.

The eight of cups, reversed, appears in the place of fears. This is a fear that the spiritual may take a back seat to they physical, in some way. It is feared, by someone connected to Pearl, that as time goes on, the search will not be carried out with the same diligence as it was immediately after she disappeared. Next, in the place of environment, we have the nine of wands, telling us to be patient, and above all, not to give up. In the place of hopes, we see the ten of cups, which is the hope of a happy ending.....but sadly, the final card is the five of swords, which is violence, vengeance, and cruelty. I always wish readings such as this looked more positive, and I always hope I am wrong in a case like this.

The parts of the reading that deal predominantly with the kidnapping contain a lot of swords, which would point us east. Also, I would look for a stone or brick wall of some sort that is not in good repair. Shallow water, about eight feet is also a factor. I also expect "twenty-one" to be a clue, as well; perhaps within twenty-one miles from where Pearl was last seen. Because travel is so often the mundane meaning of the World, I think there may be railroad tracks nearby.

Will Sierra Lamar's Case Be Solved By The Court Proceedings?

I was recently asked to do a reading about whether or not Sierra Lamar's case would be resolved, and if she would be found and brought home, now that Antolin Garcia Torres is getting ready for his trial in the case. am not sure how much more I can add to readings I have done in the past for Sierra, but I will ask again, specifically in relation to Torres's court appearances and testimony.

We begin with the Sun, reversed, crossed by the ace of swords, which is also read reversed, here. In answer to a question such as this one, the reversed Sun is most likely telling us that there has been some sort of voided contract, as if the defendant was going to testify, but then the threat described by the reversed ace of swords caused the defendant to change his mind. He might have cooperated, had he been offered immunity for the crime with which he has been charged. So....no deal. Also, we have the Page of Swords still at large. This is a young person connected to the crime, somehow, who is either an accessory after the fact, or an accessory, and has not been charged. The nine of cups appears reversed in the past, as well, reiterating the idea of a voided contract or bad faith. So the defendant has no intentions of entering a plea and testifying.

In the realm of possibilities, we have the Fool. This tells us that there is still time for the defendant to change his mind and cooperate, and it also warns the defendant that evidence that can lead to Sierra's whereabouts might still be found. The Fools is an expert at surprises involving choices at awkward times. Something that will come to pass is Temperance, reversed. This takes us back to choices at awkward times: one of the meanings of Temperance, when it falls reversed, is bad timing. This defendant is not doing himself any favors when he refuses to testify.

In the place of fears, we have Justice. We have a defendant who is obviously afraid of Justice, and another person connected to this is the King of Swords, reversed. The suggestion here is that the prosecution back off, just a little, and give the defendant some emotional space. Not that he deserves it, but the reaction is that of a cornered animal, and one of the goals is to find Sierra. He would be more helpful if he felt less threatened. A disgusting and evil paradigm. Next, in the place of hopes, we have the Queen of Wands, reversed. This is jealousy and deceit, but on the part of a woman who once had a relationship with the defendant. The last card is the nine of cups, reversed. This refers to imperfections in plans, and the defendant may be counseled to go ahead and reveal his knowledge of Sierra's disappearance. It appears that these agreements, or lack thereof, concerning testimony in court and evidence are the biggest reason that this case has not been solved, and the prosecution has more in the way of witness testimony and evidence than has been shared with the public. Sadly, I do not believe the case will be resolved until the defendant is either in court for his actual trial, or has a court date for the same.

Sierra Lamar Update

Someone sent me a question concerning the direction of the Sierra Lamar case. It is disturbing to see another year pass by, with no resolution. Here is a link to Find Sierra Lamar, and I will attempt to do another reading. Sometimes, I am not sure there is anything to add to a cold case with another reading, but a lot of time has gone by in Sierra's case.

Someone recently asked me if there would be any answers in court, as the defendant in her case, Antolin Garcia-Torres, has not entered a plea and will not cooperate. So I will update by asking if there will be any answers in court.

We start with the six of pentacles, reversed, crossed by the eight of cups. The six of pentacles usually appears reversed to describe bad debts and fraud; it raises my eyebrows a bit to see it at the core of the answer to a question on a matter such as this! It is crossed by the eight of cups, which in this case, is read reversed. This card is telling us a story of joy, happiness, and of matters spiritual getting abandoned for matters material. If I didn't know better, it would appear that Antolin did not get paid for something, and is patiently waiting for a payday of some sort! Or at least for his efforts to be rewarded.

In the background of the entire situation, we find the five of cups, reversed, which is all about expectations in this positions. Antolin was either waiting for an old friend, or had just been introduced, by an old friend, to someone new. The Page of Pentacles is also in the background. This involves communication or a message of some sort, about Sierra. So it appears that Antolin had either just met Sierra, had just been introduced, or had been told about her, and had attempted to find her that morning......the last day she was seen alive. The Queen of Pentacles also appears; she is a woman who has looked for Sierra since she disappeared, and has not given up. The five of pentacles appears as a sign of things to come, and in answer to a question like this, I would have to say that it is new information or testimony that is finally going to be heard.

The ace of swords appears in the place of fears; this describes Antolin's fear about the justice system, specifically that new and relevant information will be revealed, and it also describes some growing fears among Sierra's friends and family that Antolin will not be held accountable. The environment surrounding this is, once again, about a reward or "getting paid", because the next card is the ten of pentacles. Sometimes, this card tells of money that was spent on a house or a business, but; once again, I cannot see how this would play into a question like this one. Temperance comes up in the place of hopes. There is still a waiting game being played......but then,,,,,the reading ends with the nine of wands, upside down. This is the very opposite of waiting! This is an obstacle thrown in the defendant's path. Still, there are going to be delays, as the defendant has no intention of cooperating. Any interactions he has with the outside world, particularly where he or those close to him get any financial resources, will be watched and scrutinized.

It still appears as is Sierra is not far from where she lived. Outside, in a place where there are small animals, such as gophers and turtles.

Who Killed Antonia Yager?

Antonia, or Toni, Yager was found deceased in her apartment in Los Angeles, California in December of last year. Her murder is, as of yet, unsolved, and someone recently asked for my take on it. So I will see if the cards will shed any light on Toni's case.

The question I posed was, "Who killed Toni Yager, and why?" We have a main focus of the Knight of Cups crossed by Justice. As the knight is upside right, we will assume he is friend, not foe. Justice, as an entity and an institution, is involved, and is a force that challenges the Knight of Cups, somehow. In the background of the situation, we find the Knight of Wands, reversed, who I think is a likely suspect as the murderer. He is a man, perhaps a few years younger than the victim, and has an attitude of jealousy and likes to start arguments. Also in the background and past of this is the two of cups, which is a partnership of sorts. This tells me that either the reversed Knight of Wands had posed as a friend of Toni's, or had been involved with someone who was her friend. An element of abused partnership and trust exists. The Page of Cups appears as the motive, and I think it is what the killer wanted but did not get......some sort of gift, grant, or endorsement. Toni was seen as the Queen of Pentacles.......generous and rich, and someone thought they could get an affirmative answer from her about something, while she wanted to either think or ask others, first.

In the place of fears, we find the Tower. This card describes oppression and imprisonment, and is an appropriate fear for the perpetrator in a crime like this. The next card is the seven of wands, which tells us that the perpetrator is, for the moment, protected by privacy, both because he wasn't seen, and because no one has spoken up about any suspicions or de facto knowledge of the crime. This killer is hoping to move on, but for some reason, cannot do it right away without either being too obvious, or getting discovered. He has failed in his ambition, but is temporarily locked into the position he was in before he committed the murder. This is supported by the last card, which is the nine of cups, reversed. When the nine of cups falls reversed, it suggests plans that are not well thought out, and material losses. Look for someone who is either discreetly preparing to move residence, or sell his property.

Hopefully, Toni Yager's murder will be solved soon.

Where Is Michaela Garecht?

In November of 1988, Michaela Garecht was outside of a store, looking for her schooter, which she had initially forgotten, and when she spotted it, was grabbed by a man reaching out of a car! Her friend went back inside the store to call for help, but the man got away, taking Michaela. I will see what a reading will tell us.

This reading begins with the five of pentacles, reversed, crossed by the three of swords. One of the sidebar references of the five of pentacles is lovers lacking a place to meet, and reversed, it would simply mean the opposite, except that the place found by these lovers would be clandestine and possibly illicit. In fact, the whole relationship might be rather illicit. But here it is, part of the basis for the question of what happened to Michaela. Crossing it is the three of swords, and this speaks to a lovers' quarrel! A quarrel involving a break-up, and possibly one party compromising the other party in some way.

So what does all this have to do with Michaela Garecht? In the background, we find the two of pentacles, which tells us that the person who actually grabbed Michaela was in the process of either of moving from one residence, relationship, or job to another; possibly all three. This person was able to mask any feelings of difficulty, and pretend that he did not have any stresses, even when he did. Following it is the Chariot, which reiterates what we've seen in the two of pentacles somewhat, but the Chariot is from the major arcana, while the two of pentacles is a minor arcana card. This tells me that the circumstances of change in this person's life were not his choice, but imposed upon him, either by circumstances, or by other people. There is also an air of hunter/hunted and chasing down quarry here. Revenge is sometimes indicated with this card, too. This man was hunting.

The next card is the two of swords. The hunting trip, despite it's success, somehow did not proceed as planned. The perpetrator was actually spooked into indecision for a short time by something. That "something" may have been law enforcement, or threats of law enforcement, judging by the predominance in this reading of cards from the suit of swords, and the three of swords in particular. The perpetrator may have had to hide or "lay low" for a few days in order to avoid getting noticed. What comes next is what bothers me the most in this reading: the ten of swords. This is a violent card, describing a violent end. I wish there was some better news, here.

The Emperor shows up in the fears of the perpetrator. He is a person who is afraid of parents, particularly fathers. Something that others see in the perpetrator, and remember about him, is that he mooches, almost never truly pays his own way in life, and has trouble working at any job......so says the six of pentacles, reversed. Following this is the ten of wands, reversed, suggesting that the perpetrator may have won a lawsuit using false testimony or fake evidence, or may have committed fraud and gotten away with it. The last card is the King of Wands, reversed. This suggests a bitter, stubborn, violent man who must have everything his own way. He is between the ages of fifty and sixty, (give or take a couple of years) and had reddish or blond hair as a young man. The suggestion of the reading is that he is still at large. Perhaps that is why the cards have focused on him so much in this reading. The swords seem to be pointing east, for a location for Michaela, as that is the direction of air. Also, the reversed six of pentacles suggests that Michaela may have initially been buried, but the geology of the area somehow changed. It is not possible to get an address from the Tarot, but it does not appear that Michaela was taken far away. I would expect that she is still within the general area, near Hayward California.

Update On Sierra Lamar

There have been some updates on the case of missing Sierra Lamar, the high school student who disappeared in Morgan Hill, California, in 2012. Sierra has not been found, but some explanations have been published by the media concerning the defendant, Antolin Garcia-Torres, and the evidence against him. I have had a couple of requests lately for another reading on her. The biggest question in front of us concerns how and where can Sierra be found.

The three cards I drew for the past are the Queen of Swords, the four of wands, and the nine of cups. This is interesting, because the four of wands has come up for Sierra in previous readings for location. Also, the cards have hinted in previous readings that a woman connected to the perpetrator has more information than she has given. The four of wands is usually a depiction of a celebration or a party, and such elements appear somehow involved with location here, such as a park or a location where a wedding may have been held. I say "park" because I expect it to be an outdoor location, and I also think there may be a bridge and an older building, that may not be in current or continuous use nearby. This is followed by the nine of cups, The nine of cups encourages us not to give up; it is a card of success in it's own right. The success in this card is more emotional than monetary, however; it suggests that a tip or information from someone who cares about justice will help more than financial resources, here.

The next three cards, drawn for the present, are the Hanged Man, the ace of swords, and Justice. The Hanged Man is suspension and sacrifice. Garcia-Torres refuses to explain the evidence, and Sierra has not been found. Her location is in "suspense". The ace of swords represents a heroic new approach to this dilemma, and as it is followed by Justice, I believe the new approach has to do with the prosecution and their decision to proceed with the case using the evidence they have, despite the fact that Sierra is still missing. Either more cooperation from the defendant will be forthcoming, or another person with information will come forward. My fingers are crossed right now, but that is how this looks so far!

For the future, we have the two of wands, the four of cups, and the nine o wands. This is an interesting correlation to the beginning of this reading, which also gave us a "four" and a "nine" card to describe the situation's past events. The difference is that instead of the Queen of Swords, which tells of a female person, we see the two of wands, which tells of possible assistance or help from......another person. The four of cups is dissatisfaction with the status quo, and the nine of wands is lack of patience. So to put this together, it appears that pressure from the judicial system and some very lucky information from someone who does not mind helping can actually solve this case. I wish things could have gone more favorably for Sierra,

Update For Sierra Lamar

There was a recent request for a reading for Sierra Lamar, who disappeared a year ago, with a focus on what Sierra was thinking at the time this happened, and possibly, the cause of death. I can certainly try this, and see what the Tarot has to say about those things.

This is rather a disturbing reading. It starts with the Emperor crossed by Temperance. The Emperor is the "father" card of the Tarot, and as he falls reversed here, I am going to assume that he is favorably disposed toward Sierra. Temperance is a card of good combinations and relationships, so it would seem that Sierra's father or someone who served as a father figure in her life had recently given Sierra some advice concerning boyfriends, drugs, or underage drinking. Beneath this, we find the six of swords, upside down. When this card falls upright, it is a card of travel. We see it reversed, here, which means that Sierra did not travel far, if at all, on the last day she was seen alive. It also tells of situations that have no escape, and it looks as if she was warned by her father about this particular possibility. The World also appears in Sierra's past, immediately before she disappeared. She had apparently just decided to do something that she saw as a positive step, or move, in her life. The five of swords overpowered her, though. Anger and revenge were involved. The Page of Wands appears as a message she was waiting to read or hear, but never got to see. Perhaps this was when her phone was taken from her. It seems that Sierra's last thoughts had to do with texts, messages, communication, and probably her phone.

The Hirophant, a card of tradition and sometimes of marriage, figured heavily into Sierra's fears. This is a bit unexpected, because Sierra was so young. The Knight of Cups, a romantic contact, occupied her thoughts. The Queen of Swords, reversed, was another aspect of Sierra's fears. There was a feminine influence here. The Queen of Swords reversed is intolerant and violent. The placement of all the cards from the suit of swords in this reading suggests strangulation or suffocation, as Swords' element is Air. Of course, the meaning could be more literal and suggest actual knives, too, but I tend to think strangulation. Justice, reversed, falls as the final outcome. Excessive severity, unjust punitive actions, and injustice in general is the meaning here. Sierra had either overstepped a boundery, or was perceived to have done so, and someone (or possibly two someones....a male and a female) about whom the Emperor had warned her decided to seek revenge. It does not appear that Sierra expected this, or saw it coming.

What Was The Motive In Sierra Lamar's Disappearance?

I got a question the other day about Sierra Lamar's case, and a request for an update. Specifically, the question was abut the motive of the perpetrator here. Sierra Lamar disappeared in March of this year in California. A suspect has been arrested, but has not entered a plea.

For the reading, I got three cards for the past concerning the motive: the ten of pentacles, the ace of pentacles, and the Tower, reversed. The ten of pentacles is usually and inheritance, but sometimes a gift, prize, or a one time payment in a large amount. This type of element was part of the motive. Next, backing this up, is the ace of pentacles, which is a similar message, but more of an opportunity to make money, rather then money given as a gift or a prize. Following this, is the Tower, reversed, which in that postition, means inprisonment and sometimes the unravelling of plans to a distasterous effect.

In the present, we have the nine of cups, reversed, speaking to imperfections concerning someone's plans. The three of wands came up next, which means treachery, and help was offered that was untrustworthy. This is all followed up by the King of Wands, reversed, who is a nasty and unyielding male, who is older than Sierra and was at odds or cross purposes with her in some way. At least two people have information about what happened to Sierra, although only one knows exactly where she is.

The future brings this person worry about plans and actions that do not pay off, in the form of the seven of pentacles upside down. This is the garden that never grew, the tree that never bore fruit. Also the person who never got paid. Next is the six of swords, reversed, which is a card of travel. Upside down, it tells us that this case, along with Sierra, are not going anywhere, anytime soon. Also, I am still of the opinion that Sierra is not far from her home. The last card is the five of wands, which is a card of games and trickery. The next move, it seems, is up to the court. The court will have to move forward with this case without the cooperation of any defendant.

Sierra Lamar Update

It's been over a week, and Sierra Lamar, who disappeared intead of getting on the school bus in Freemont, California, and making it to school last Friday, has still not been found. Quite a few people have asked for an update, and I thought about it decided that the best question to ask at this point is "how can Sierra be found?"

This starts with Strength crossed by the Queen of Wands. We have a woman diligently looking for Sierra, who is represented by Strength. This is encouraging.....it gives me hope that there is still time to find her. Some very interesting background about what has happened is the Lovers, reversed. I am very inclined to interpret this, as the Lovers not only literally means "lovers", but choices, as a bad choice that Sierra, herself, made. I also think romance was part of the picture, so I think asking everyone who had a romantic interest in Sierra, no matter how old or young, would be a good place to start. The card representing past causes is Judgement, reversed, affirming that Sierra used bad judgement on this occasion. In possible outcomes, we get the Queen of Pentacles, reversed. This is a selfish woman who does not have Sierra's best interests at heart; I am not quite sure how she fits into the picture just yet. Something that will happen is the ten of pentacles, reversed. The ten of pentacles is an inheritance or a financial gift, and it looks like resources will be spent in many avenues, not all of them fruitful in producing clues, before Sierra is found. So.......we have a message so far that this involves romantic interests, and that the clues had by law enforcement so far may not be the best. An upside down court card, such as this reversed Queen of Pentacles, is often a deliberate attempt at deceit, and I feel that the clues that have been left were left in a way to throw off the investigation. Which really means that questioning Sierra's friends about every, single thing they can all remember and going to every single place she has been for the several months is the best way to proceed. It looks, also, like the Queen of Wands is already beginning to do this.

The first card on the staff is the nine of pentacles, reversed. Upright, this card is resourceful independance. Because the card is reversed, I am going to say that in order to find out who has sustained an unhealthy interest in Sierra, law enforcement will really have to dig deep into more than one person's personal affairs. Also, I think the reversal of this card is telling us that search warrents will be hard to obtain in this case. The next card, describing the environment, is the King of Wands, reversed. This is likely to be an actual person in Sierra's surroundings, and upright he is a married, decent and faithful kind of man. As he falls reversed, I will have to say that while he is still possibly married, he may be separated or divorced, or have been married multiple times. I would expect him to be insecure, hence his interest in teenage girls, and significantly older than Sierra. Also, his reversal tells me that he is not honest, so law enforcement will have to really dig into Sierra's emails and statements from her friends about EVERYONE she has mentioned in order to find him. The next card, in the place of hopes, is the Hanged Man, and as he falls upright, this is a card of sacrifice. The Queen of Wands is willing to make many sacrifices to find Sierra. The final outcome is the Knight of Pentacles, reversed. This is someone who is slowing down the investigation deliberately. He is younger than the King of Wands, and is the one who has been leaving Sierra's personal effects about for others to find. The persistance of the Queen of Wands can win here, if she refuses to give up. Sleuthing through Sierra's past is the best way to find her at this point.

One more thought on this: The reversed Queen of Pentacles could very well be an accomplice or an accessory after the fact, and her actions could be what is represented by the reversed Knight of Pentacles.
